Radio Control has not been included in these rules at this time, however where allowed it should be used in the spirit of the original rules and conform to UK Regulations concerning Radio Controlled Equipment.
With a view to recording something sooner rather than later I seek some guidance on RC rules - mainly because I don't know the UK law and praticality! Japanese competition follow this:-
- Usable frequencies for remote control robots are 27 MHz (Narrow bands between 1 - 12) and 40 MHz (Bands 61, 63, 65, 67, 69, 71, 73, 75)
- Usable remote control units are limited to the following brands: Futaba, JR, Sanwa, Kondo Kagaku(KO Propo). Multiple remote control units cannot be used. When you use 27 MHz, use a remote control unit that's compatible with narrow bands.
- A remote control robot must use a crystal receiver prepared by the Tournament Office. Consequently, the robot's receiver section must be detachable.
Item one - does this fit with UK regulations?
Item two - is it reasonable to restrict control units?
Item three - well that would be tournament specific...
Looking at the AWS rules I presume we should be looking at the following radio frequencies as acceptable in the UK: 27 MHz, 40 MHz, 418 MHz, 433-434 MHz, 868 MHz and 2.45 GHz
Your thoughts and guidance are welcomed
